If a user-selected or captured photo contains a face, TressTone processes only the pixels contained in that photo and the corresponding hair-color output needed to provide the requested preview. Face and hair pixels are used only to detect the relevant hair region, generate a hair mask, recolor the selected hair area as requested by the user, and display the resulting preview. The selected or captured photo is transmitted to Replicate for hair/face segmentation and to fal.ai (Features & Labels, Inc.) for the requested AI image fill/color generation. The app does not store photos, face data, or hair masks on developer-operated servers in the current described implementation. The original selected photo, generated mask, and output image may be held in memory for the active app session and may be cached only for current-session reuse. They are not saved in persistent in-app history by default. Users can revoke photo-processing consent where that control is available, stop submitting photos, uninstall the app, delete saved copies from Photos, or contact support@velonapps.com for privacy requests. TressTone can use the iOS system photo picker so you choose the specific image the app can access. The app does not need permission to scan your full photo library. The current described implementation may use the Replicate fermatresearch/bisenet-faces model for hair segmentation and the fal-ai/flux-pro/v1/fill endpoint for image fill/color generation. The app may request provider settings such as disabled fal.ai request payload storage and one-hour generated media lifetime where supported. Replicate documentation states that for API predictions, input parameters, output values, output files, and logs are removed after one hour by default.
